Pythagoras Theorem

a² + b² = c²

Pythagoras Theorem

In a right-angled triangle: a² + b² = c²

Where c is the hypotenuse (longest side).

Example

A triangle has sides 3 and 4. Find the hypotenuse.

a² + b² = c²
9 + 16 = c²
25 = c²
c = 5
